The project

Where the hot tub used to be.

The hot tub sat in a recessed cut-out in a composite deck. Once it was removed, the deck was left with an open hole.

New joists were framed across the opening and set in joist hangers, then the section was re-boarded with composite decking matched to the existing deck, so the opening disappears into the rest of the deck.
