What was hiding under the tub.
The bathroom looked fine at a glance, but a moisture meter read 87% at the base of the tub. Once the surround and tub came out, the damage was clear: rot and mold had spread through the subfloor along the wall.
We cut out every soft section down to the joists and put in a new subfloor before anything else went back. A new tub was set and leveled, the drain was re-run and tied in from the crawlspace below, and a new tub-shower surround went in.
New plank flooring, a reset vanity and toilet finished it off. Five days from first look to finished bath, by one crew.
