The project

Gray to warm brown.

This elevated deck under a pergola had weathered to gray. It was cleaned and prepped first, and the house siding and pergola posts were masked off in plastic so the stain went only where it belonged.

Then the decking and railings got a fresh coat of stain, taking the whole deck from gray back to a warm brown.
