Rot at the front entry.
Rot had reached the deck post and the front-entry stairs and landing. We jacked up the deck, replaced the rotted post and set the new one on a concrete pier block with a metal post base.
Then the stairs and landing were opened up and the rotted material removed. The framing was repaired, the stairs and landing were re-decked with new boards, and the finish was applied to match the existing deck. The repair itself took one day.
A rotted deck post and front-entry stairs, repaired and refinished to match.
